PSO’s are involved with the enforcement of laws, rules, and regulations under the State of California, Federal, and Tribal Government codes, securing an assigned area, conducting investigations, collecting evidence, and preparing timely and accurate reports. PSOs must deliver critical safety and security services in a business-oriented, courteous, customer service, and professional manner.

Under the direction of the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Shift Sergeant, the Public Safety Officer (PSO) is a uniformed, armed position responsible for providing public safety to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI) Reservation and all its Tribal citizens, assets, customers, facilities, and operations, including the Yaamava Resort and Casino at San Manuel.
